The Akron-Newstead Food Pantry is a joint effort within the Akron-Newstead church communities which is maintained by volunteers. The Akron-Newstead Food Pantry is housed in our church and is supported by the following Akron/Newstead churches.
  • Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of South Newstead
  • St. Johns Lutheran Church
  • St. Teresa's Catholic Church
  • First Baptist Church
  • Living Free Church
  • First United Methodist Church
  • Clarence Center Akron Mennonite Church
  • Victory Gospel Church
  • Calvary Baptist Church

  • The food pantry is usually on the first Tuesday of the month, but some times we have two a month or none at all because of holidays. Anyone that meets our eligibility requirements of income levels as well as how many are in the family are welcomed.
Money for the program is usually given to us by the organizations like Rotary, JC's, businesses, as well as many individuals mostly at Christmas, and then we have collections of food from Boy Scouts, Girl scouts, US Mail carriers. The school has helped out many times at homecoming , Thanksgiving, dress down days (for faculty) and just collections for the classes to get a pizza or two. It really gives us money to buy the things we really need when we need them.

Please check Churches Calendar for Food Pantry Days.
